The Rhyme Lists  | BY THEME | NOW THAT'S FUNNY! | AUDIOS/VIDEOS | COPYRIGHTED POETRY | Theme:  Poetry and Poets

The poet, novelist, playwright, (and webmaster?) is said to be, in the end, writing about himself and his art. With the wine poems within this theme, this is more obviously so. They do give us a glimpse, sometimes a tongue-in-cheek glimpse, into the creative process. You will also find a literary “pat-on-the-back” or two that writers of any genre are prone to do.

As to whether all creative endeavors are at the root self-analysis, I have my doubts (I am more of the Freudian school of thought, and think that it all has to do with sex and mother).
