vintagewinepoems.com theme:   Bad Times

Bad times and wine: not always a complementary pairing.  This is not simply a “drown your troubles” theme, although there is a wine poem that, with a smile, says just this (God made man).  Research (including my own) shows that alcohol enhances a depressed state.  The more useful advice to take from these poems is “drown your troubles in the good things of life”, like friends and family, with a little wine on the side.  Look upon the more depressing pictures poetically painted here as just that - portraits of bad times.
